Do you trust politicians? Please comment. Thank you.

Dear Friends,

Britain has just had an election that resulted in a
hung parliament. The public is confused but pretty
excited all the same.

For me, politicians are a disgrace. Their policies
and modes of conduct are far from spiritual. I do
not trust them at all, having studied their antics
with great care over the years.

But what do you, my dear friends,
think of politicians?
Do you trust them?

Philip Arnold Honours Womanhood on International Women's Day 2010

March 8 is International Women’s Day 2010 and,
once again, my theme on this very important day
is the Stopping of Violence Against Women.

People often ask me why I love, respect and admire women so,
and why am I so interested in stopping violence against them.
Frankly, I am amazed and disgusted by the question.
Which one of us has not been born of woman and which woman
is not someone’s daughter, sister or mother? Women are quite
wonderful, as wonderful as men, maybe even more wonderful,
and violence against them is an abomination.

Many people, including many women, are of course ignorant
of the horrendous facts about Violence Against Women.
To remedy this, I have created the following post.

Many people have asked me over the years:
“Well, Philip, what can we do about it?”

The answer, my friends, is very simple indeed:

“HONOUR WOMANHOOD!
And honour it each and every day
at every single opportunity!”

As a long time expert in spiritual metaphysics, I can assure you
that women have exactly the same inner potential as men. It is
only indoctrination and external pressures that prevent women
from developing and expressing it.

If you are a woman, you can honour womanhood by recognizing
the infinite potential dormant within you, by refusing to submit
to indoctrination or external pressure which tells you otherwise,
and by standing up for yourself, your rights, your well-being, and
for universal good – individually and together with other intelligent people.

If you are a man, you can honour womanhood
by refusing to belittle women in any way, and
by supporting their fight with all your might!

My friends, we must all stand up together this
International Women’s Day onward and do our
utmost to Stop Violence Against Women in all
its many disgraceful forms.

Many people, including many women, are unaware of the horrendous facts regarding Violence Against Women. So please study the facts below and then bring them to the attention of your families, friends and readers.

Here are some facts and figures taken from the

Secretary-General’s in-depth study on violence against women (2006) (A/61/122/Add.1):

* Violence against women is the most common but least punished crime in the world.

* It is estimated that between 113 million and 200 million women are demographically “missing.” They have been the victims of infanticide (boys are preferred to girls) or have not received the same amount of food and medical attention as their brothers and fathers.

* The number of women forced or sold into prostitution is estimated worldwide at anywhere between 700,000 and 4,000,000 per year. Profits from sex slavery are estimated at seven to twelve billion US dollars per year.

* Globally, women between the age of fifteen and forty-four are more likely to be maimed or die as a result of male violence than through cancer, malaria, traffic accidents or war combined.

* At least one out of every three women has been beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused in her lifetime. Usually, the abuser is a member of her own family or someone known to her. Domestic violence is the largest form of abuse of women worldwide, irrespective of region, culture, ethnicity, education, class and religion.

* It is estimated that more than two million girls are genitally mutilated per year, a rate of one girl every fifteen seconds.

* Systematic rape is used as a weapon of terror in many of the world’s conflicts. It is estimated that between 250,000 and 500,000 women in Rwanda were raped during the 1994 genocide.

* Studies show the increasing links between violence against women and HIV and demonstrate that HIV-infected women are more likely to have experienced violence, and that victims of violence are at higher risk of HIV infection.

*At least 60 million girls who would otherwise be expected to be alive are ‘missing’ from various populations as a result of sex-selective abortions or inadequate care as they are seen less important than boys.

*20-70% of abused women never told another person
about the abuse until being interviewed for a study. (WHO, Geneva, 2002)

*Nearly one in four women will experience sexual
violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

*At least 54 countries have discriminatory
laws against women.

* About 25,000 brides are burned to death each year in India because of insufficient dowries. The groom’s family will set the bride on fire, presenting it as an accident or suicide. The groom is then free to remarry.

* In a number of countries, women who have been raped are sometimes killed by their own families to preserve the family’s honor. Honor killings have been reported in Jordan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and other Persian Gulf countries.

* According to UNICEF, 100 million to 140 million girls and women have undergone some form of female genital mutilation. Today, this practice is carried out in 28 African countries, despite the fact that it is outlawed in a number of these nations.

* Rape as a weapon of war has been used in Chiapas, Mexico, Rwanda, Kuwait, Haiti, Colombia, and elsewhere.

The needs of a human being are sacred. Their satisfaction cannot be subordinated either to reasons of state, or to any consideration of money, nationality, race, or color, or to the moral or other value attributed to the human being in question, or to any consideration whatsoever.

What a country calls its vital economic interests are not the things which enable its citizens to live, but the things which enable it to make war. Petrol is much more likely than wheat to be a cause of international conflict.

Equality is the public recognition, effectively expressed in institutions and manners, of the principle that an equal degree of attention is due to the needs of all human beings.

When once a certain class of people has been placed by the temporal and spiritual authorities outside the ranks of those whose life has value, then nothing comes more naturally to men than murder.

Human beings are so made that the ones who do the crushing feel nothing; it is the person crushed who feels what is happening. Unless one has placed oneself on the side of the oppressed, to feel with them, one cannot understand.

Nothing is so beautiful and wonderful, nothing is so continually fresh and surprising, so full of sweet and perpetual ecstasy, as the good. No desert is so dreary, monotonous, and boring as evil. This is the truth about authentic good and evil. With fictional good and evil it is the other way round. It is only the impossible that is possible for God. He has given over the possible to the mechanics of matter and the autonomy of his creatures.
